Author Guidelines

VIDYA - A JOURNAL OF GUJARAT UNIVERSITY invites original, previously unpublished manuscripts, including articles, reviews, and short communications, for publication. All submissions must adhere to the following guidelines:

Eligibility:

Submissions are invited from academicians, researchers, and students currently.
Authorship:

Co-authorship is allowed, up to a maximum of ten authors per submission.

Types of Submissions and Word Limits:

  • Articles: 6000 – 8000 words
  • Notes/Comments: 3000 – 4000 words (These may cover critical assessments of recent adjudications, policy decisions, or developments in science and technology related to the field of forensic justice.)
  • Book Reviews: 1500 – 2500 words (These reviews should provide a critical analysis of recently published books in the field of forensic justice.)

Note: The word limit excludes footnotes.

Submission Prerequisites:

  1. Anonymity in Manuscripts: The manuscript should not contain any reference to the identity of the author(s), ensuring anonymous peer review.

  2. Author Details: A separate Word document should be submitted with the following author details:

    • Name
    • Affiliation
    • Position/Year of Study
    • Email ID
    • Contact Information
    • ORCID ID (if applicable)

Manuscript Formatting and Style:

  • File Format: All submissions must be made in Microsoft Word format. Submissions in PDF or other formats will not be accepted.

  • Abstract and Keywords: All submissions (except Book Reviews) should include an abstract of no more than 250 words, followed by at least 5 keywords.

  • Title: The manuscript title must reflect the content and argument of the paper.

  • Main Text: The body of the manuscript must be formatted

  • Footnotes: Footnotes should be formatted

  • Citations: All citations must follow. Consistency is required throughout the manuscript.

Plagiarism Policy:

All submissions will be evaluated in accordance with the journal's plagiarism policy. Submissions found to have plagiarized content will be rejected.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 10-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
